that was horrible. just goes to show that brutality is present even in the supposedly most civilized country in the world. what in heaven's name was that kid's offense anyway?
hi isa, what happened to the coven? havent read anything new for a month. the kid supposedly did not have an id that allowed him to stay past 10. so really, he shouldnt have been there. but when confronted, he did opt to leave, albeit grudgingly. i think the situation bothers me on so many levels, sometimes contradictingly so. there's the issue of proportionate response. there's the lack of action by the students. there's the commentary that the kid is a spoiled brat and shouldnt have been there without id. there's other comments saying he deserved what he got because he broke the rules. then there's the claim that if a cop tells you to stand up, you just stand up. how that works if you're actually incapacitated by the cop is beyond me, but it irks me just the same. then there's all that screaming...
and i'm here. in this place. where things like that could happen. i imagine in UP, had that happened, we'd find affirmation in seeing the cop egged or defied. that's if he's lucky. if the student were tau gamma, or some such other fraternity, i would have no doubt the cop would find himself in some sort of weird accident. turns out, our version of chaos is the same thing that keeps our characters in check sometimes. thats good to know.
